JOB DESCRIPTION

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set up and run machines such as grinders, saws, ovens, and other manual/automated equipment.
  • Maintain production standards while running batches of 1 to 200+ parts.
  • Follow work instructions and inspect work.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving minor equipment issues.
  • Setup and use precision measuring equipment such as .0001 indicators, dial or electronic bore gages, gage blocks, inside an outside micrometer, depth mics, dial calipers, etc.
  • Maintains good housekeeping practices.
  • Is alert and attentive to the machine performance and operation.
  • Communicates with other Shift Operators on machine and tool operations and on scheduling plans to provide smooth cell operation.
  • Communicates with support personnel to offer suggestions for improvements in tool life, part quality, productivity, communication, work cell appearance etc. to better overall performance.


Basic Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment working with machines or assembly.
  • Basic mechanical skills and aptitude for operating machinery.
  • Must have the ability to communicate easily with Supervisors, Programmers, and other shift personnel.
  • Must be capable of reading blueprints, programs, and sketches.
  • Must be familiar with and be able to use precision measuring equipment.
  • Must be alert, conscientious, and capable of adapting to new concepts in machining.
  • Ability to work independently or self-directed.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Physical demands include standing at the machine for up to 8-10 hours per day, frequent lifting up to 15 lbs. with occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.


Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Based on experience and capabilities, but is top-tier in the Dayton/Cincinnati area.

$24-$28/hr, plus a shift premium of $2.00 per hour if working on the off-shifts.

Benefits:

  • 11 Paid Holidays per year
  • Vacation two weeks prorated first year; three weeks after first year with a maximum of five and a half weeks after 20 years of service.
  • 401K - $1 for $1 company match up to 5%. Additional Company contributions are made after seniority periods are met.
  • Health insurance - most competitive in the area. PPO and HSA plans offered.
  • Vision and Dental insurance.
  • Weekly pay.
  • Not required to work more than 8 hours per week of overtime, unless employee chooses.
  • $2 per hour additional for 2nd and 3rd shift positions.
  • $150 yearly work shoe allowance and $175 yearly safety glasses allowance.
  • Attendance bonus of $250 every 3 months.
  • Free uniforms and free weekly laundering, if employee chooses to wear a uniform option.
