Collision Center / Body Shop Technician - Mechanic - Planet Ford DallasWe know that good body techs do more than repairs, they make our customer's vehicles-and our shop-look good If you are experienced, hard-working and known for your skill and attention to detail, then our busy collision center may be the perfect fit for you.You will need to have at least two years of experience in frame, metal and interior repairs on collision-damaged vehicles to qualify for this amazing opportunity with excellent earning potential.Top Pay for Top CandiatesRelocation Reimbursement Plans AvailableResponsibilitiesPossess an operating knowledge of measuring systemsReplace damaged wiring harnesses or reinstall harnesses after body repairDiagnose and repair full-frame vehicles and uni-body structural damagePerform vehicle collision and repair work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards to drive customer loyaltyPerform all body work including welding, soldering, body alignment and oxidizing operationsRemove and reinstall interiorsCommunicate with parts department to obtain needed partsNotify body shop supervisor and/or estimator immediately if additional repair is required or not neededNotify shop supervisor and/or estimator immediately if repairs can't be completed within time promisedDocument all work performed on the RO including recording cause of failureMaintain the highest possible standards of workmanship; perform quality checksSupervise work of any apprentice technicians as assignedEnsure that customer vehicles are kept clean and are only driven for business purposeKeep shop area neat, clean; must account for all dealership-owned tools at all timesStay current in the latest collision and repair methods across a number of brands; stay informed of latest bulletins, manuals and other publicationsParticipate in collision and repair training activities; attend factory-sponsored classesFollow established safety protocols; report any shop equipment in improper working condition; immediately report safety incidentsUnderstand, keep informed of, and comply with federal, state and local regulations that affect service operations, such as hazardous waste disposal and OSHA right-to-knowSafeguard dealership assets and customer dataComplete required training assigned through the company training portalAdhere to consistent and reliable work scheduleOther duties as assignedRequirementsMust have at least a high school diploma/GEDAble to lift up to 50 poundsAble to work on your feet for extended periods of timeAll applicants must be able to pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, drug test, and valid driver licenseBasic Computer skillsPositive, friendly attitude, along with a customer service mentality BenefitsWe strive for a superior customer experience and believe our Associates should have the same superior experience.
