Personal Injury Legal Assistant

A great opportunity to be a part of a reputable, and growing law firm handling significant cases in a positive work atmosphere. Our law firm needs a Legal Assistant to assist our Personal Injury Department. As a Legal Assistant, you will be assigned administrative and clerical tasks such as: assisting attorneys and case managers, obtaining medical records, obtaining documents, answering phones, organizing files, filing documents, making copies, scanning documents, and generating new files for new clients.
Responsibilities:
Work in a team environment to ensure the preparation of documents. Organizing, distributing, or tracking documents according to departmental procedures Ensure filing, preparation, and scanning of documents and correspondence. Keep detailed records of all incoming documents and file accordingly. Maintain communication with clients and provide case updates promptly. Assist in the preparation and filing of legal documents with state and federal court. Assist in the preparation for court proceedings (including, but not limited to, assisting with trial preparation, and maintaining communication with clients and experts). Organize and maintain electronic case files within the company software/case management system. Perform a variety of office related activities to support Department functions including back-up of co-workers and front desk responsibilities. Performs other related duties as assigned. The company reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.Qualifications:
At least 5 years of legal experience, specifically in Personal Injury 5+ years of experience using Microsoft Excel, edit, sort/filter and save spreadsheets (can maintain complex spreadsheets). 5+ years of office experience Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required Experience with Case Management Software You must be able to work under pressure—things change fast around here.Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.Employment Type: Full-time
