Join the Oregon Youth Authority (OYA) as a Victim Services Coordinator, where you'll play a pivotal role in developing and coordinating crime victim and survivor services within our dedicated Victim Engagement Program (VEP) team. In this position, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring the provision of trauma informed and person-centered services and trauma recovery opportunities to crime victims, survivors, and their families connected to youth in OYA custody.

Your responsibilities encompass a wide array of critical tasks, including advising on legal mandates, creating, implementing, and maintaining programs that support victim engagement and trauma recovery. Coordinating victim's rights notification and staying abreast of emerging trends in victim services. You'll spearhead initiatives such as victim/offender dialogue programing and manage a responsibility letter bank, all aimed at supporting the healing process of victims and survivors as well as the youth in OYA custody.

Beyond program development and oversight, you'll serve as OYA's representative on public policy matters related to crime victims’ rights, engaging in advocacy efforts at the statewide level. Collaboration with juvenile justice partners and active participation in advocacy workgroups will be integral to your role.

The Day in the Life:

  • Development, implementation, and coordination of crime victim and survivor services at OYA.
  • Implementing a victim/offender facilitated dialogue programming, a responsibility letter bank, and other restorative justice focused initiatives.
  • Resolve complex crime victim rights matters and oversee the victim notification processes.   
  • Provide technical assistance and ongoing process improvement for OYA’s VEP to ensure provision of legally required notification of rights to crime victims.
