One of the first diversity focused organizations in the United States National Medical Fellowships (NMF) founded in 1946 is the nations premier 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization seeking to eliminate health care disparities by increasing the number of Black Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) physicians and other health care professions working to advance health equity. NMF works to expand access to education in health care professions strengthen partnerships with institutions providing this education and increase a sense of belonging for BIPOC students by enhancing its financial communal and emotional support. NMF also offers resources for physicians and other providers already working in health care and seeks to increase diversity and welcome intentionally excluded communities to participate in clinical research.

Role Description
Reporting to the Director of Advancement Services the Advancement Services Manager role will assist the Advancement team with fundraising operations supporting activities for gift processing database management stewardship efforts prospect research donor relations and special events. This positions expertise in supporting development efforts will assist our organization in streamlining the gift entry and acknowledgement process improving business opportunities strengthening relationships with donors encouraging organizational growth researching and identifying funding opportunities and promoting the organizations mission and values to external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate for this role should possess exceptional communication time management and organizational skills. The advancement services manager should enhance the efficiency of development functions help sustain organizational growth maintain positive relations with donors and ensure the integrity of Development processes.

This position is a hybrid role which requires an inoffice presence 2 days a week. This positions core office and work hours are 9:00 AM 5:00 PM Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities:

  • Receiving donations and completing applicable followup and stewardship while keeping donor records current.
  • Conducting prospect research to assist in the identification and record management for donors and prospects.
  • Providing assistance with the implementation of programs projects and events.
  • Exhibiting a high level of attention to detail with experience in the area of database management donor stewardship and prospect research.
  • Working along with the database manager to assist in the management of gift processing.
  • Managing stewardship functions; providing donation receipts donor acknowledgement letters and Impact Reports for major donors.
  • Identifying developing analyzing and maintaining information on major gift prospects and assisting with the assignment of new potential prospects to development officers.
  • Utilizing a variety of research techniques and resources to prepare background reports profiles and other information.
  • Analyzing interpreting updating and formatting biographical professional and financial information into concise report formats for various fundraising constituencies including development officers senior development staff and other NMF leadership.
  • Presenting appropriate materials in response to requests for information including but not limited to indepth individual profiles summary information to support major solicitation and/or stewardship events and other developmentrelated information as requested by development staff.
  • Maintaining the accuracy and integrity of databases by ensuring that all information is kept current and up to date and managing relationships for corporation and foundation records.
  • Managing registration for signature events by compiling guest lists producing registration setup utilizing Raisers Edge and other fundamentals for fundraising events.
  • Maintaining electronic filing system for fundraising documents and records.
  • Supporting and improving fundraising efforts while enhancing overall development initiatives.
  • Maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information and upholding the Donor Bill of Rights and other ethical standards.





Requirements
  • Bachelors degree.
  • 13 years of experience in development or database management.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently manage time efficiently and prioritize tasks.
  • Flexibility to travel 1 to 2 times per year
