The Senior Analyst, Information Governance & Data reports to the Director, Legal Operations, Data & Analytics and will work with colleagues across a large corporate law department in a publicly traded, international energy company.

Responsibilities May Include
  • Developing practice area and administrative department work practices to promote greater utilization and efficient management of electronic records and data sources.
  • Participating as a member of the team to evaluate, design and implement a refreshed Legal data management system and acting as the ongoing data management system administrator.
  • Serving as the central point of contact for administrative activities associated with Legal electronic and paper records and appropriate information governance technology.
  • Evaluating current processes and identifying operational solutions to increase the ease of access, efficiency, collaboration, and filing consistency.
  • Collecting, tracking and analyzing data for informed decision-making, regular monitoring and effective reporting.
  • Handling requests for information and documents from external entities for use by Legal, business unit clients and other stakeholders.
  • Searching legal department and company databases utilized for records storage in response to litigation requests for production.
  • Performing analytical tasks necessary to develop recommendations to refine processes and procedures necessary to minimize liability, risk and the cost of retaining hardcopy and electronic data, while adhering to information governance practices.
  • Maximizing the use, training and deployment of AI tools and processes to enhance work productivity.
  • Supporting company corporate compliance, administrative, legal and regulatory policies.

Required Qualifications
  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3 or more years of direct experience in corporate or law firm records management and analysis
  • Substantial familiarity with 0ffice 365

Preferred Qualifications
  • Extensive knowledge of electronic legal recordkeeping practices and administrator experience managing information governance technology solutions
  • Project management experience implementing information governance systems and the effectively classifying, migrating and validating data
  • Creative thinker with strong analytical and technical skills
  • Advanced interpersonal skills and connection ability
  • Developed organizational, written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to successfully work and collaborate with a variety of position levels from peer groups to upper-level Legal management
  • Must be flexible and willing to assist with a variety of tasks
  • Deadline driven along with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and adapt to change
  • Appropriate use of good judgment and discretion
  • Understanding and appreciation for working with highly sensitive and confidential information
  • Candidate must be an initiative-taker with strong attention to detail and be able to work independently and as an effective part of a team
