Job Description Summary

This role supports the Ultrasonic, Infrared, and Eddy Current Inspection Team, which is part of the GE Aerospace Inspection Solutions (AIS) organization, located in Springdale, OH. This team is responsible for designing, developing, validating, and deploying ultrasonic, infrared, and eddy current NDT inspection techniques for metal and composite aircraft engine components.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Use first principles to develop cutting edge nondestructive inspection techniques
  • Serve as project and/or technical leader for NDT inspection development
  • Transition new inspections to suppliers
  • Troubleshoot and assist other inspection facilities
  • Perform lean and cost reduction activities
  • Define specifications to allow new technology introduction and address root cause corrective actions
  • Collaborate with design, materials, and inspection colleagues to meet business commitments
  • Engage with external agencies to promote advancements in inspection capability and safety


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in nondestructive testing)
  • Minimum of 3 years of nondestructive testing development experience
