What will you be doing?

As an employee working within the , you will have an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Oregon’s most vulnerable children and families. As a Continuum of Care Coordinator, you will have the following duties:

  • Project Management: Design and redesign agency processes focused on children and families using project management methodology.

  • Policy Guidance: Provide policy advising, guidance, development, and direction impacting all children served by Child Welfare and beyond foster care.

  • Cross-Agency Collaboration: Work with other Oregon state agencies, local governments, private organizations, and external stakeholders. Convene cross-agency and external stakeholders for group business process mapping and cross-system implementation strategy.

  • Strategic Decision-Making: Assist in making decisions that impact all divisions and the long-term direction of the agency. Educate staff on processes and propose changes to agency policy, rule, and law as needed.

  • System Improvements: Develop new analytical methods and implement system improvements, considering long-range effects on served populations and other state agencies.

  • Independent and Executive Collaboration: Work independently in strategy design and collaborate directly with executive leadership for execution of new concepts.

What you need to qualify

  • A bachelor’s degree in business or public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, Finance, Political Science, or any degree demonstrating the capacity and understanding of the systems that serve Oregon’s Children; and five years professional-level evaluative, analytical, and planning work. OR

  • Any combination of experience and education equivalent to eight years of experience that typically supports the knowledge and skills for the classification.

Essential attributes

We are looking for candidates with experience:

  • Experience engaging and directing system improvements that impact multiple systems, vulnerable populations, and state agencies.

  • Experience synthesizing and using critical thinking to hypothesize solutions to complex children's system needs.

  • Demonstrated action-oriented approach with experience in successful project management and implementation.

  • Working knowledge of how to interpret rule and practice across federal and state agencies.

  • Business acumen and financial forecasting skills needed to support successful planning with external partners.
