Wood currently has an exciting opportunity for a Project Controls Manager to join the team in Houston.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Providing direction and leadership across Planning/Scheduling, Capital Cost Control, Engineering Control and Project Administration functions on a day-to-day basis
  • Managing project controls standards and the quality of delivery of these activities across the Power Solutions business, functions, and projects
  • Assisting key projects through project set-up support, mentoring, coaching, training, and peer reviews
  • Contributing to the development and updating the Project Management Plan (PMP) and project controls tools
  • Working with project teams, providing guidance on delivering project controls with various project execution strategies and resolving project control delivery concerns
  • Directing training initiatives and overseeing technical performance of the project controls and project administration functions
  • Interfacing with Operations Manager, project controls leaders and project managers to set and periodically review objectives regarding ongoing development and support requirements for project controls functions, recommending strategies for achieving these objectives
  • Assisting the Operations Manager and project managers regarding staffing, planning and execution strategies for project controls activities. Coordinating with HR to develop recruiting and staffing plans, providing input on position classifications, job descriptions, and terms of assignments
  • Ensuring commonality of systems, standards, and procedures in project controls
  • Ensuring divisional and corporate project controls standards and procedures are maintained across all Power Solutions projects
  • Participating in various human resources activities such as resourcing, performance management, training and development, salary reviews and employee program initiatives
  • Participating in the development of proposals, presentations, and meetings with clients, as required


QUALIFICATIONS

Skills/Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years' experience in diverse roles in EPCM project execution
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in leadership roles in project controls
  • Relevant technical diploma or university degree from a recognized school, preferably in Engineering or a related discipline
  • Excellent communication, mentoring, coaching and collaboration skills
  • Experience in all phases of project execution
  • Knowledge of project management, quality management, human resources practices, financial and other administrative principles and practices, including scheduling, planning, estimating and cost controls
  • Excellent organizational and coordination skills
  • Ability to be open-minded and innovative with both internal and external customers
  • Ability to demonstrate strong leadership capabilities and build relationships
  • Preferred candidate will be fully bi-lingual (English and Spanish)
