This Regulatory Specialist role is in the Houston, TX office and will report to the Senior Vice President of Land, Legal and Regulatory. Aris is seeking someone who will ensure regulatory and environmental compliance for Salt Water Disposal wells and recycle water infrastructure in New Mexico and Texas. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining adherence to state and federal regulations, managing permits, and overseeing regulatory aspects of our operations.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Stay abreast of all relevant federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to Salt Water Disposal wells and water recycling infrastructure in New Mexico and Texas.
  • Ensure our operations are in full compliance with rules and regulations at all times.
  • Manage the permitting process for the establishment, operation, and maintenance of Salt Water Disposal wells and water recycling facilities.
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies and landowners to secure necessary permits in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Gather data and prepare P-18’s, H-5’s, H-10’s, and any other monthly/annual filings required by the New Mexico Oil Conservation Division and Texas Railroad Commission.
  • Keep abreast of regulatory provisions and trending practices on regulatory matters and rule changes.
  • Respond to requests from regulatory agencies and assist Senior Management with preparations for interface with the Aris board on regulatory matters.
  • Maintain accurate records of permits, leases, agreements, and regulatory correspondence.


Education & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Physical Science, Land Management, Regulatory Affairs, or a related field preferred.
  • At least 2-5 years of experience in regulatory compliance or environmental permitting within the oil & gas industry, with specific experience in Salt Water Disposal wells and water recycling preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant federal and state regulations, including but not limited to the Clean Water Act, Safe Drinking Water Act, and state oil and gas regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with regulatory compliance software is a plus.
