RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Purpose

The Global Product Line Vice President is responsible for the Product Line strategy, Technology Development & Commercialization, and Product Lifecycle Management to increase the value gap as measured by gross margin, driving opportunities for integration, and ensuring efficient resource allocation and technical development of the field population.

Roles & Responsibilities

VISION & LEADERSHIP
  • Establish business strategy of product line and develop short- and long-range plans to attain specific objectives set by corporate to meet business needs
  • Collaborate with a wide variety of functional areas such as sales, operations, engineering, marketing and manufacturing to develop and provide products responsive to customer needs and market opportunities
  • Establish and maintain an effective organizational structure and skills base to meet the plans and needs of the business in the short and longer term, maximizing cost-effectiveness
  • Develop and communicate global product line objectives and collaborate with the Geozone leadership to ensure effective implementation
  • Look continuously for cross-product line integration opportunities to provide effective solutions for client requirements

OPERATIONS
  • Oversee and develop product and service strategies, research and development requirements, development priority, analysis of market research and manufacturing coordination for new and emerging products
  • Define and prioritize the investment in capital and Research and Development product efforts to meet corporate objectives and customer needs
  • Work with geozones to determine the headcount needs of fresh graduates for the Field Engineer NextGen program in alignment with product line strategy
  • Direct the commercialization of new products and/or services by coordinating key functions including Marketing, Sales and Finance
  • Oversee the effective deployment and application of the product line by determining which markets the product line is established
  • Instigate, drive and take ultimate responsibility for continuous improvement initiatives to ensure that the internal process within the organization meets the needs of the business
  • Define the product line marketing and sales organization strategy to achieve maximum market potential and market penetration for all products and services offered and drive effective coordination among Global, Geozone product line sales efforts
  • Direct and/or conduct market surveys to recognize, and respond to, changes in the marketing place including customer requirements, competitor positioning and governmental regulations
  • Proactive approach to sales and marketing of the Company's products and services throughout the globe

COMMUNICATION
  • Ensure regular communications with client representatives to ascertain business trends and client's future requirements as well as attitude to Weatherford contractual performance
  • Communicate regularly company and product line vision and objectives to Global Product Line and Geozone employees
  • Communicate expectations, roles and responsibilities to their reports
  • Maintain effective communications with all key stakeholders both internal and where appropriate external

FINANCIAL
  • Maximize financial results of the product line on a global scale, including gross margin growth, fixed assets, inventory and capital expenditure
  • Coordinate with Geozone management the activities and growth of the product line and drive Geozone operations in defining growth needs including personnel, assets and training
  • All employees have an accountability to the organization to be financially responsible whether they are in charge of a function budget or simply their own expenses
  • Costs incurred should be within the approved budget, processed within agreed time frames & following the relevant financial policy and procedure

PEOPLE & DEVELOPMENT
  • Inspire, influence and empower employees across the matrix (both direct and indirect teams globally) to overachieve objectives
  • Lead and empower teams to develop short and long-term strategies and action plans and drive for results
  • Manage talent decisions towards linking critical roles to the value they need to generate
  • Cadence reviews with the Geozone Business Managers (GBMs) on assessments and training matrix for the development of the field population
  • Ensure talent identification and succession planning are a priority in the Product Line agenda
  • Actively engage with employees through field and workshop in-person visits to support talent management through Weatherford's NextGen program and reinforce positive recognition
  • Active participation in Weatherford's effort to drive strategies for recruitment and retention of key personnel to foster an environment that supports the attraction & retention of a high performing talented workforce
  • Employees have a responsibility for developing their careers within the Company including completing all necessary function, compliance & business standards training to enhance their knowledge, skills and experience
  • Employees should engage regularly with their line manager to discuss their personal performance, objectives and opportunities to enhance their skills and experience to support their career potential

QUALIFICATION

Experience & Education

REQUIRED
  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or computer science
  • 15+ years of progressively digital technical leadership experiences with scale outcomes
  • Must possess a thorough understanding of the OFS product line applications/operations
  • Range and depth of experience in business management, including financial management and budget control, people management, and safety leadership
  • Proven track record in product management and/or application of new technology
  • Must have held a Product Manager role
  • Proven track record in managing international operations
  • Experience in leading both direct and indirect reports
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale digital transformation projects and implementing best practices in digital product development
  • Proven experience in leveraging big data, cloud, modern software engineering practices and AI for competitive advantage
  • Experience in building secure solutions and partnering with the Security team

PREFERRED
  • Master's degree in Business (MBA)
  • Preferably have held a multi-product line geographical management position
  • Commercial experience as a provider of and/or as a customer for oilfield products and services
