General Description:
In this position the major emphasis will lie in the development of a specific curriculum/learning area.
Curriculum Leaders are responsible and accountable to the College Principal Team.The key focus of the role is to develop and evaluate effective curriculum in accordance with the College's Teaching and Learning Framework. Curriculum Leaders will lead direction and support to the teaching staff and College community in relation to curriculum issues. It will necessitate close liaison with the Curriculum Management Group, other Leading Teachers, Learning Specialists, staff and parents to ensure effective implementation of agreed programs and policies. Curriculum Leaders will be responsible for the organisation of regular faculty meetings and the management of faculty staff.
Curriculum Leaders will be proactive in identifying College curriculum needs, using data to inform teaching approaches and in recognizing changing needs in education. They will work with relevant teams of staff to develop and implement strategies for change.
Communication and Collaboration
Curriculum Leaders will work collaboratively with faculty Learning Specialists to implement the Teaching and Learning Framework. Curriculum Leaders and Learning Specialists will work together in their faculty to lead the implementation of evidence-based practice in the classroom. They will ensure that the curriculum is guaranteed and viable and responsive to the needs of the students.
