Critical Incident Management System (CIMS) surveyor
Inspector V – Starting Market Rate Salary $57,.88
As part of a collaborative team of public servants, a surveyor protects individuals’ health and safety by conducting off-site reviews, monitoring, and investigations primarily in the Home and Community-Based Waivers (HCS) Medicaid program providers to assess their compliance with state and federal laws and rules. These include investigations into incidents required to be reported by the provider online into the Critical Incident Management System (CIMS). Essential Job Functions:
Under the direction of a program manager, a surveyor conducts off-site reviews, to ensure the resolution for critical incidents reported into the Critical Incident Management System are effective to prevent future similar incidents to the extent possible.
Contacts consumers and providers and completes interviews with relevant individuals to gather information regarding incidents involving consumers.
Gathers evidence of providers’ actions to resolve incidents and consumers’ responses.
Determines if the incidents have been resolved to the consumers’ satisfaction.
Follows-up with the provider for any outstanding activities needed to resolve incidents.
Records detailed information in the CIMS for each incident reviewed to capture events and steps taken towards resolution.
Tracks, trends, and analyzes data.
Generate aggregate, and individual reports of findings.
Communicates clearly and accurately with others (internally and externally) to provide, exchange, or verify information, and answer inquiries.
Occasionally might need to testify at hearings or in court proceedings to provide information regarding policy/procedures, history, findings, or activities.
Knowledge Skills Abilities:
• Knowledge of program regulations and procedures, survey and investigation techniques, and principles.
• Skill in operating personal computers and software
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members and others and to work independently.
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
• Ability to use the computer for writing reports.
• Knowledge of acceptable professional standards of care.
• Ability to interpret complex regulatory policies, procedures, and regulations.
