We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Inspector to join our team at Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc. (LAN). As a Construction Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring that construction projects meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect construction sites to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and regulations.
Monitor and document construction progress, identifying and reporting any deviations or issues.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to resolve any discrepancies or concerns.
Conduct site investigations and document findings, providing recommendations for improvement.
Assist with pre-construction efforts, including taking photos and videos of the site.
Prepare and submit daily inspection reports, highlighting any issues or concerns.
Coordinate with testing labs, owners, and contractors to ensure required tests and inspections are performed.
Witness and document field and factory tests, ensuring accurate results are recorded.
Review and evaluate testing lab reports, clarifying or revising as necessary.
Assist with reviewing pay applications and contractors' as-built drawings.
Oversee the work product and performance of the construction inspection team, ensuring high-quality results.
Schedule inspectors and testing labs based on project needs, managing resources and training as necessary.
Requirements:
Minimum 5+ years of experience in general civil, facility, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, control, and specialty fields of construction.
Minimum of 3+ years of experience managing other inspectors.
Expertise and knowledge of all CSI divisions, vertical and horizontal construction.
Proficiency with reading, understanding, and correlating plans and specifications.
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.
Prior experience with large, capital improvement, public works projects involving coordination between multi-disciplined contractors.
10 hour OSHA safety course; 40 hour Supervisor course preferred.
First aid & CPR training preferred.
ICBO, or equivalent, certification preferred.
Prior supervisory/lead inspector experience.
