Job Description:

Do you have excellent customer service skills and enjoy working with a diverse group of people to help solve technical issues? , the state’s economic development agency, is currently hiring a permanent, IT Support Specialist (Information System Specialist 4) within the Technology Services Section of the Operations Division. What you will do:
  • Provide technical and user support for computers, desktop applications, and other information technology systems.

  • Install, configure, and maintain desktop and laptop computer hardware and software.

  • Perform day to day administration of users’ network profiles, file access, group membership, and passwords.

  • Ensure secure and consistent desktop and laptop environments using standardized imaging processes and by deploying system-wide security updates.

  • Respond to users’ requests for assistance and resolve problems related to the use of desktop computers, laptop computers, iPhones, and peripheral devices.

  • Test and document processes and configuration information for use by other IT staff.

  • Perform research, evaluation, test, and make recommendations for new software, hardware, products, processes, methods, and technologies.

  • Collaborate with the IT team in the planning of technology tasks and projects.

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of some or all the following skills:
  • Knowledge and/or experience installing, configuring, and maintaining desktop and laptop computer hardware and software.

  • Knowledge and/or experience responding to users’ requests for assistance and resolves problems related to the use of desktop computers, laptop computers, iPhones, and peripheral devices (Windows 10 and above).

  • Ability to identify customers’ needs for hardware and software solutions, conduct product analysis, and recommend solutions.

  • Ability to collaborate with diverse customers to coordinate technical solutions.

  • Demonstrate excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

What you need to qualify:


(a) Three (3) years of information systems experience

OR

(b) An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field,

OR

(c) completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field; AND one (1) year of information systems experience.
