Summary Statement

The incumbent in this position performs maintenance service for the Herman Holloway Campus for the State Service Centers in the Northern Region.

Essential Functions

Schedules on-going preventative or routine maintenance duties.
Assigns, supervises and participates in work involving all phases of painting, carpentry, plumbing, installation, repair and maintenance of systems and equipment, and other related duties.
Inspects job site, determines courses of action, directs staff and reviews assignments.
Schedules assignments, estimates cost, time and materials.
Maintains records and prepares reports.
May be required to diagram structural and/or mechanical modifications and heating work.

Job Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Physical Plant Maintenance/Trades Foreman
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

Three years experience in operating and maintaining a variety of equipment, hand and power tools used in trades fields such as plumbing, carpentry, painting or HVAC. Three years experience in performing work in a variety of trades fields such as plumbing, carpentry, painting or HVAC. Six months experience in estimating cost, time and materials for projects. Six months experience in interpreting blueprints, schematics or technical drawings. Knowledge of interpreting safety and building codes, laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Knowledge of staff supervision acquired through course work, academic training, training provided through an employer, or performing as a lead worker overseeing the work of others; OR supervising staff which may include planning, assigning, reviewing, and evaluating the work of others; OR supervising through subordinate supervisors a group of professional, technical, and clerical employees.

Possession of a valid Driver's License (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).
