As the Offshore Chief Navigator using Gator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient navigation of vessels in offshore operations. You will be responsible for overseeing navigational activities, coordinating with other crew members, and providing expert guidance to ensure the successful completion of projects. Your expertise and attention to detail will be essential in maintaining the highest standards of navigation and safety.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute navigational operations in compliance with industry regulations and standards.
  • Monitor and interpret radar and other navigational data to ensure accurate positioning and safe navigation.
  • Coordinate with the vessel's crew, including other navigational officers and helmsmen, to ensure effective teamwork and communication.
  • Prepare and maintain navigational charts, logs, and records in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular inspections and tests of navigational equipment to ensure proper functioning and readiness.
  • Implement and follow the company's QHSE policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior navigational officers, ensuring their professional development and adherence to best practices.

Requirements
  • Valid certification as an Offshore Chief Navigator, issued by a recognized maritime authority.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in offshore navigation, with a proven track record of successful projects experiencced with Gator.
  • Strong knowledge of international navigational regulations and best practices.
  • Proficiency in using navigational equipment, including radar, GPS, and electronic charting systems.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate and collaborate with crew members.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to handle challenging situations in a fast-paced offshore environment.
  • High level of attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and navigation.
