JOB OVERVIEW

A Parts Advisor at a Genesis dealership plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of the dealership's parts department. Their primary responsibility is to assist customers, including both dealership service departments and retail customers, in finding and purchasing the right Genesis automotive parts and accessories. Genesis Dealership Parts Advisor plays a critical role in maintaining customer satisfaction and the profitability of the parts department. They should have excellent communication and customer service skills, a solid understanding of automotive parts and accessories, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced dealership environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Customer Assistance: Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers in identifying and selecting the correct Genesis parts and accessories for their vehicles. This involves addressing inquiries in person, over the phone, or through email and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  2. Parts Ordering: Place orders for Genesis parts and accessories, either directly from the manufacturer or through authorized suppliers, to maintain an adequate inventory based on dealership demand.
  3. Inventory Management: Monitor and manage the inventory of Genesis parts and accessories. This includes tracking stock levels, reordering when necessary, and organizing and storing parts to prevent damage or loss.
  4. Parts Catalog Knowledge: Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the Genesis parts catalog, keeping up-to-date with any changes or updates to available parts and accessories.
  5. Technical Knowledge: Develop a solid understanding of Genesis vehicles and their various components. This knowledge is essential for accurately identifying and recommending the right parts for repairs and upgrades.
  6. Pricing and Quoting: Provide accurate price quotes to customers, including wholesale pricing for the service department and retail pricing for individual customers.
  7. Order Tracking: Monitor the status of customer orders, ensuring that parts are delivered on time. Communicate any delays or issues to customers and service departments.
  8. Documentation: Maintain meticulous records of all transactions, including sales receipts, invoices, and order forms. Ensure that all paperwork is accurate and properly filed.
  9. Technical Support: Offer technical support and guidance to customers and service technicians who have questions or require assistance with parts installation or compatibility.
  10. Promotions and Sales: Promote special parts and accessory sales, discounts, and promotions to boost revenue. Encourage upselling when appropriate.
  11. Safety and Compliance: Strictly adhere to safety regulations and dealership policies, especially when handling hazardous materials or operating equipment like forklifts.
  12. Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with other dealership departments, such as the service department and sales team, to ensure smooth operations and enhance overall customer satisfaction.
QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Education: A high school diploma or equivalent
  2. Automotive Knowledge: A strong understanding of automotive parts and accessories and familiarity with the specific Genesis product line is essential. This knowledge helps in accurately identifying and recommending the right parts for customers.
  3. Customer Service Skills: Exceptional customer service skills are crucial, as Parts Advisors interact directly with customers in person and over the phone. Effective communication, active listening, and problem-solving abilities are important.
  4. Computer Skills: Proficiency in using computer software for parts cataloging, inventory management, and order processing is often required. Familiarity with dealership management systems (DMS) is a plus.
  5. Organizational Skills: Parts Advisors are responsible for maintaining an organized inventory and managing paperwork efficiently. Strong organizational skills are essential to keep track of parts and orders. Precision is critical when dealing with automotive parts and accessories. Attention to detail helps in accurately identifying and ordering parts and in managing inventory effectively.
  6. Sales Skills: While not always a primary responsibility, the ability to promote parts and accessories and upsell when appropriate can enhance the profitability of the parts department.
  7. Problem-Solving: Parts Advisors may encounter complex customer inquiries or issues. The ability to analyze problems and find solutions is beneficial.
  8. Ethical Conduct: Upholding high ethical standards, including honesty and integrity, is essential when handling customer transactions and dealership assets.
  9. Continuous Learning: The automotive industry is dynamic, with new models and technology emerging regularly. A willingness to engage in ongoing training and professional development is highly advantageous.
