Overview:

The Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Virginia is seeking a Senior Data Specialist to support clinical research, particularly in advanced neuromonitoring in brain injuries and stroke. This role is pivotal in curating, standardizing, and analyzing large time-series data critical for understanding brain function and recovery.

Responsibilities:
Develop a data platform with industry partners and UVA infrastructure for clinical bedside data visualization and feedback.
Coordinate maintenance and effective utilization of a research database of monitored patients.
Engage in collaborative partnership with the PI to develop novel data analysis approaches for grant applications, publications, and patents.

Duties:
Understand all phases of the analytic process including data collection, preparation, modeling, evaluation, and deployment.
Explore and analyze data from multiple sources to identify trends.
Establish links across existing data sources and find new correlations.
Develop qualitative and quantitative analyses including written documents, flow charts, presentations, and spreadsheets.
Monitor data accuracy and completeness, maintain records, and generate reports.
Coordinate, delegate, and supervise junior professionals, student workers, and volunteers.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor's Degree
Experience: Six years of experience, or Master's degree with at least two years of experience.
Licensure: None

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Primarily sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. Occasional travel may be required for meetings and programs.
