The Supervisor, Corporate and Joint Venture Accounting will be responsible for accounting related to Treasury, Corporate Insurance, Equity Method Investments, and other corporate activities. The role will be responsible for overseeing a team of four immediate direct reports through December 2024 and two direct reports in the ongoing future state. In addition to the P66 team, the Supervisor will oversee activities performed by the Managed Service Provider which includes one Team Lead and eight analysts. In addition to routine activities, the Supervisor will oversee special projects including those related to Mergers, Dispositions, and Acquisitions.

Responsibilities May Include:
  • Supervise and develop team members in their accounting skills, new job responsibilities as an AES organization, and future career development needs.
  • Maintain compliance with SOX controls.
  • Oversight over Managed Service Provider Activities and coordination of oversight among subject matter experts on the team.
  • Team members will be responsible for reviewing MSP's account reconciliation, journal entries, closing and non-closing task checklists, and audit inquiries. The supervisor will ensure review and controls are complete, assist as a backup for controls, and provide guidance as needed.
  • Responsible for assisting with process changes related to Mergers, Dispositions, and Acquisition activities, currently including DCP accounting, and implementation of changes.
  • Oversee Corp. & JV Transition of processes to the MSP through Knowledge Transfer, Ramp-up, and Stabilization through Dec 1.
  • Responsible for some limited reconciliation reviews performed by P66 analysts, reviews and approves BPC entries and late books, and approves Controlled Vendor Postings within $5 million.
  • Approval of Non-Standard Journal Entries related to debt, insurance, and Corporate activities.
  • Integrate new accounting tasks related to Corporate during acquisitions and mergers.
  • Coordination with accounting policy and support with Business Development requests
  • Participate in the monthly Controllers Variance Analysis research and preparation around WD 5-8. Key areas will be focused on all Corporate Income statement line items and focused areas among other segments like Equity Earnings, Other Expenses, and Taxes Other than Income Taxes. Additionally, assist with Balance Sheet Analysis for accounts associated with General Accounting, primarily Investments and various other line items for the Corporate Segment.
  • Work with Director, General Accounting, and Consultant, General Accounting to monitor Service Level Agreements. Processes will need to be established and ongoing monitoring and coordination with General Accounting team members will be required. Ownership of the monitoring will be with the Consultant, however, this will be a joint team effort.
  • Provide ad-hoc expertise to special projects related to Corporate and JV Accounting as they occur. Corporate and Joint Venture Accounting scope includes Treasury Accounting, Insurance Accounting, Equity Method Investment Accounting, and Misc. Corporate and Joint Venture Accounting activities.

Required Qualifications:
  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business related majors
  • 5 or more years of accounting/finance-related experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SAP
  • Previous Corporate Accounting experience
  • Certified Public Accountant
  • Advanced oral communications
  • Ability to understand accounting policy with assistance from our Accounting Policy and company experts
