Registered Polysomnographic Technician

The Registered Polysomnography Technician acts a resource person for the Licensed Polysomnography Technician.


Education Requirements: Polysomnography Technicians are required to have an Associate's degree in Respiratory Care and New York State licensure in Respiratory Therapy with an SDS (sleep disorders specialist) add on.

Graduation from an accredited Polysomnography program with an AAS, registered (RPSGT) through the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists and valid Polysomnogram License in NYS preferred.


Experience Requirements:

One to three years of experience in a sleep lab.

Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.

Ability to use applied technology in a clinical setting.
