Position Overview

Montefiore Medical Center is in search of a Special Procedure Technician to join our team.

Role Responsibilities

The Special Procedure Technician is responsible for conducting comprehensive sleep assessments and analyses, as well as implementing necessary interventions. Key duties include:

  • Welcoming and orienting patients to the sleep lab environment.
  • Applying monitoring leads on patients and overseeing the study.
  • Detaching patients post-study and ensuring equipment cleanliness and maintenance.
  • Completing all relevant documentation accurately.
  • Providing mentorship and training to less experienced colleagues.
  • Supervising staff and undertaking managerial responsibilities in the absence of the lab manager.
Qualifications

Licensure/Certification: Candidates must possess certification from the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists as a registered Polysomnographic Technologist, along with a valid New York State license to practice as a sleep technician. Successful completion of an accredited educational program leading to an associate degree with a focus on polysomnography is required.

Additional Requirements: A valid BLS/CPR certification is mandatory.

Work Schedule

This position requires availability for evening shifts on specific days.

Educational Background

A minimum of an Associate's Degree is required, along with at least 3 years of relevant experience.

The salary range for this position is $49.48 per hour, subject to adjustments based on experience and qualifications.
