As the Category Manager for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Personal Protective Clothing (PPC) subcategories within the Logistics Unit, your primary responsibility is to provide strategic leadership in the procurement processes and service delivery standards related to PPE and PPC. With specialized expertise in government procurement practises and policies, market dynamics, and compliance, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the Logistics Unit's ability to procure and manage PPE efficiently.

By leveraging your expertise, this role will contribute significantly to the Logistics Unit's ability to source high-quality PPE products, maintain compliance, and continuously enhance service delivery standards. Your strategic approach and commitment to excellence will be instrumental in fostering a resilient and efficient procurement environment within the organization.

The position requires a decisive, proactive, and responsible hands-on lead, with a deep understanding of government procurement, product specifications, industry standards, and market dynamics. With proven experience in successfully implementing strategic procurement initiatives, negotiating contracts, and managing end to end supplier relationships.

The successful candidate will combine these qualities to play a crucial role in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the Logistics Unit's procurement processes, ensuring the reliable and compliant sourcing of PPE products.

Key to the success of this position is a commitment to building strong, collaborative, and productive working relationships within the teams and across a variety of stakeholders within the department.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field; an advanced degree is highly regarded. Demonstrated experience in government procurement, particularly in managing categories related to PPE and PPC, as well as an understanding of the global supply chain. Proven ability to effectively communicate and influence stakeholders at all levels through clear, persuasive presentations and collaborative negotiation strategies. Proven record in developing and executing category strategies to optimize supply chain efficiency. Familiarity with industry regulations and standards related to PPE and PPC.

This is a fixed term position available for a period of 24 months. The work location for this position is 71-79 Kyle Road, Altona North with hybrid work arrangements available.
