Position Summary: The Accounting Specialist will play a critical role in managing daytoday accounting operations ensuring accuracy and compliance with established financial practices. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in both accounts payable and receivable reconciliations and general ledger maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable (AP):

    • Process and review invoices for accuracy and completeness.
    • Perform 2way and 3way matching coding and batching of invoices.
    • Prepare and issue checks electronic payments and wire transfers.
    • Maintain vendor relationships through effective communication and timely issue resolution.
  • Accounts Receivable (AR):

    • Generate and distribute customer invoices ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
    • Record and reconcile customer payments (cash checks ACH and credit card).
    • Prepare and distribute aging reports conducting followups for overdue accounts.
    • Manage customer inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Bank Reconciliations:

    • Reconcile monthly bank statements credit card statements and vendor accounts.
    • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between the general ledger and bank statements.
  • General Ledger (G/L) Maintenance:

    • Assist in monthend and yearend closing processes including journal entries and account reconciliations.
    • Maintain accurate and organized financial records ensuring compliance with company policies and GAAP.
  • Financial Reporting:

    • Assist with the preparation of financial reports including balance sheets income statements and cash flow statements.
    • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Other Duties:

    • Collaborate with other departments to support overall financial goals.
    • Assist with special projects and adhoc reporting as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in accounting with a focus on AP AR and G/L.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks SAP Oracle) and MS Office Suite especially Excel.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Excellent attention to detail organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fastpaced environment.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
