Seattle, Washington, United States Amazon Full time
Shape the future of learning with us

The AWS Training & Certification (T&C) team empowers millions of individuals and companies worldwide to cultivate and expand their professional skills using AWS products and services in the cloud.

This job is a unique opportunity to build the next generation of learning experiences from the ground up using the same modern native AWS technologies we enable our customers to learn.

Key job responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain full-stack internet-scale web applications on AWS; heavy focus on RESTful APIs, infrastructure as code, and test automation.
  • Integrate our systems with core Amazon services for e-commerce, identity, and security.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their requirements, and identify opportunities to improve business processes through high quality software that is extensible, re-usable and easy to maintain.
  • Collaborate on our technology roadmap to turn visions into reality.
A day in the life

Are you passionate about building full-stack software tools and systems that solve critical business problems? Do you love collaborating with peers, UX-Designers and Product Managers to build delightful experiences for our customers? If so, this is the team for you.

Join us, and you will be part of a team that is focused on inventing and building solutions that will improve lives through learning.

As a Software Development Engineer, your role will be to bring your expertise in modern software development and your ability to dive deep into complex technical problems to the forefront as you help bring our learning tools to the next level of customer delight.

You will create new, cloud-native services and capabilities to meet emerging needs as our business grows and operate existing systems at AWS scale to ensure they meet and exceed our high-security standards, operational excellence, and scalability.

Given the size of this initiative, you will also have the opportunity to work with multiple technical and business teams at Amazon in different locations.

On-call Responsibility

This position involves on-call responsibilities, typically for one week every two months.

We don't like getting paged in the middle of the night or on the weekend, so we work to ensure that our systems are fault-tolerant.

When we do get paged, we work together to resolve the root cause so that we don't get paged for the same issue twice.

We are looking for highly motivated software development engineers to bring in their ideas and experience to deliver great products to our customers.
