Public Address Announcer

Summary:
The Texas Stars Public Address Announcer conveys information to the fans in attendance at home Texas Stars games at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park. The P.A. Announcer is an integral portion of the overall game presentation and fan experience as the recognizable voice during games. The P.A. Announcer is also recognized as an Off-Ice Official.

This is a 1099 contracted position paid per game and per commercial reading. Please include a demo reel of your previous experience upon applying. In person auditions may be required.

Responsibilities:
  • Shall serve as the verbal communication link between game officials and spectators, broadcasters and media
  • Articulate all organization scripts and commercial/sponsor copy
  • Accurately pronounce all organization and competitor names
  • Announce all pertinent game information as associated with the AHL and the Texas Stars
  • Enhance the fan experience using appropriate inflection as directed by management
  • Retain extensive knowledge of the rules of hockey
  • Execute special announcements and changes as necessary throughout the game, including possible emergency announcements, as directed by management
  • Arrive prepared prior to the game to attend game operations and production meetings
  • Record video board commercials, radio ads, sponsor commercials or reads as needed
  • Announce overtime and shootouts as listed in the AHL Manual
  • Work with the Off-Ice Officials in accurately announcing goals and penalties
  • Abide by AHL rules and guidelines
