SCFS is seeking a full-time Teaching Assistant to support and collaborate with the 2nd/3rd Grade Lead Teachers. Teaching Assistants work directly with students in all subject areas and partner with the Lead Teacher to deliver a mission-aligned social-emotional and academic program in a mixed-age classroom. RESPONSIBILITIES
In the classroom, the Teaching Assistant:
- under the supervision of the Lead Teacher, leads lessons and facilitates formative assessments for small groups of students;
- assists students on-on-one;
- contributes to classroom management and behavior management;
- supervises students independently;
- prepares materials;
- supports the Lead Teacher across the academic and social-emotional program as needed. In addition to classroom duties, the Teaching Assistant:
- attends in-service;
- participates in Back-to-School Night, family-teacher conferences, and other school events;
- facilitates class field trips;
- completes other duties as assigned by the Lead Teacher or Head of School, consistent with the position of an Assistant Teacher and member of the faculty. This is a full-time, salaried position. THE PROCESS
