Deputy Associate Director for Patient Care Services

The Deputy Associate Director for Patient Care Service (DADPCS) works collaboratively with the Clinical Service Chiefs, Administrative Service Chiefs, Nurse Managers and Nursing Leadership to achieve Healthcare System goals.
The major responsibility of the DADPCS is to ensure the development of a highly educated, innovative and motivated nursing staff that delivers high quality competent nursing care over all sites of care.
Practice of an executive nature, comprised of complex, leadership and administrative components, associated with critical heath care issues and activities that influence the organizational mission, health care, and policy (VA Handbook 5005, Part II, Appendix G6).
Champions a High Reliability Organization with a culture of safety founded on a systems approach to developing health care solutions based on prevention, not punishment, with collective mindfulness.
The RN Executive provides organizational leadership skills to develop and mentor a highly effective diverse workforce, to improve overall health care system operations to achieve performance measures and to support strategic planning initiatives.
The DADPCS is responsible for initiating and participating in interdisciplinary projects and committees with the aim of improving outcomes in the management of complex patient care or the systems and process of the organization/service.
The DADPCS and other nursing leaders participate with leaders from the Executive Leadership Team, management, medical staff, clinical areas, and administrative areas in strategic planning and decision-making processes.
Nursing leaders in all services are permitted input into nursing policy development and may participate in the ADPCS' Administrative Staff Meetings, encompassing nursing management and staff development.
Appropriate delegation of nursing activities is accomplished to nurse leaders in all services.VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package: VA Nurse Total Rewards
Pay:
Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for performance awards
Paid Time Off: 50 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year)

Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory
Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm
