Position in this function reports to the VP of Level Funded/All Savers, the Level Funded Sr. Director position serves as a leader responsible for coordinating key initiatives, renewal process and NPS in the UHC Level Funded business, a growing P&L serving ~1 million members and responsible for ~$500M in internal operating income annually. This position will manage a team that works directly with the Health Plans to identify areas of opportunity and implement strategies for growth. The individual in this position and their team will also cultivate strategic business relationships and serve as the primary conduit for communications between the Level Funded business team, and Health Plans related to the renewal process.

General Job Profile

Provide leadership and be accountable for performance and direction through multiple layers of management for the level funded offering, with a focus on the renewal process and NPS.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain level funded goals and objectives
  • Develop and execute strategies for the level funded offering aligning with overall goals and objectives, completing them timely, within budget and with adherence to quality standards
  • Effectively communicate both written and oral to all levels of management
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to improve both internal and external processes that impact our constituents
  • Lead process changes and deliver under uncertainty and ambiguity
  • Develop and drive renewal strategies resulting in significant business results
  • Manage and be accountable for the financial obligation of the level funded renewals
  • Work with internal and external partners leveraging level funded Net Promoter Score (NPS) and Voice of the Customer (VOC) programs to measure and drive improvements
  • Engage in the research, requirements, development, and testing of Artificial Intelligence in partnership with other internal constituents (shared service partners and local markets)
  • Lead, guide, and manage teams of employees

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of management experience in the health insurance industry in a heavily matrixed environment
  • 5+ years of leadership experience with direct reports
  • 5+ years of demonstrated success in implementing innovative growth strategies across operations
  • Demonstrated experience presenting to and successfully influencing senior leaders
  • Experience managing large complex projects
  • Proven solid financial and analytical skills
  • Proven solid organizational and communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Willing and able to travel 10% +/- depending on business need

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of level funded sales experience focused on renewals
  • Experience with Artificial Intelligence and/or Machine Learning
  • Experience working directly with a sales organization either in a sales, account management or support role
  • Experience implementing strategies for improving NPS

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
