Based in Washington, D.C., EGA has deep expertise on the ground in the U.S. and Canada, APAC, MENA, Europe, Latin America, and India. EGA's team members work seamlessly with Edelman's 6,000+ world-class communications professionals to deliver truly integrated client services. EGA's dedicated teams represent firms across all sectors in navigating key markets' political and regulatory environments to achieve business goals and help client firms enter and grow in these markets.
As an EGA intern, you will gain exposure to all aspects of the global public affairs landscape, including advocacy campaigns, stakeholder engagement, media communications, digital strategy, and policy analysis. You'll engage with trends in climate, technology, healthcare, advanced manufacturing, and other industries shaping the future. Your work will enhance your understanding of policy impacts on business and cultivate skills essential for a career in public affairs and strategic communications.
Responsibilities:
- Attend conferences, seminars, workshops, and other events virtually and in-person related to sector-specific economic, political, and trade matters, and provide concise reports on key insights and takeaways.
- Assist in preparing issue memos, briefs, and analysis documents to update clients and internal teams on relevant developments in the sector or market-specific landscape the team is focused on.
- Monitor news sources daily to identify pertinent news related to sector specific developments or economic, trade, geopolitical, and regulatory developments.
- Track and report on relevant congressional legislation related to the sector or industry developments and summarize for the team.
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis on economic, trade, geopolitical, and regulatory issues that relate to business and client needs.
Basic Qualifications:
- Availability for 25–30 hours/week (minimum 16-week commitment).
- Located in Washington, D.C., or New York City, with the ability to meet Edelman's 3-day/week in-office requirement.
- Currently enrolled undergraduate student, recent graduate, or graduate school student with a focus in International - Relations, Political Science, Communications, or a related program.
- Demonstrated interest in global affairs or in one of our priority sectors: tech, agriculture, sustainability, financial services, and market entry/exit.
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Able to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment while ensuring accuracy and reliability.
- Strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to work within a team.
- Fluency in a foreign language (particularly Mandarin or Arabic) is preferred, but not required.
