The Northern Texas PGA (NTPGA) is one of 41 Sections of the PGA of America and its geographic territory includes the State of Texas north of the 31st latitude, or just north of Austin. The Northern Texas PGA is comprised of over 1,000 PGA Members and Associates employed at more than 300 facilities.
The Northern Texas PGA has 25 full-time staff members and is headquartered in Frisco, Texas.The Northern Texas PGA opened its own state-of-the-art headquarters on the PGA Frisco campus in December of 2022.
In addition to managing the day-to-day affairs of the Section, the Northern Texas PGA also operates a non-profit and charitable foundation that focuses on five pillars: junior golf, college scholarships, inclusion, internships, and military and veterans. The foundation also owns and operates The Ronny Golf Park.
The mission of the Northern Texas PGA is to serve its members and grow the game. INTERNSHIP START & END DATESAugust 14 – December 10, 2024
(start and end dates are somewhat flexible based on successful applicant's school schedule)
JOB SUMMARYThe Northern Texas PGA has numerous tournaments, events and stories that we like to share with the North Texas community. Through our communications and media department, our staff helps create and develop content and promote our good works to further our mission of serving our members and growing the game of golf.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIESThis intern will primarily focus on video capturing and editing. Activities include, but are not limited to:
- Producing, shooting and editing content for the NTPGA, NTPGA Foundation and NTPGA Junior Tour.
- Creating and editing recap videos after tournaments and events.
- Filming, creating and editing content for NTPGA social media accounts.
- Manage and promote the NTPGA, NTPGA Foundation, and NTPGA Junior Tour social media outlets including Facebook, Flickr, Instagram, X, and YouTube.
- Effectively organize all content captured and created.
- Other duties as assigned.
*Please note that this role is primarily on-site based with some office days scheduled.
- Proficiency with Video Editing - Premiere Pro or After Effects
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud: Photoshop and Illustrator is a plus
- Experience with video cameras, mirrorless and DSLR cameras.
- Photography experience is a plus
- Experience with shooting interviews
- Knowledge of lighting
- Ability to use Apple computers and operating system
- Basic knowledge of Google Suite.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Organized, detail-oriented, punctual, energetic and a self-starter
- Ability to bring innovative and creative ideas to work
- Ability to work and communicate effectively in a team-based environment
- Enjoy working with people, including children and young adults ages 7-19
- Has or is pursuing a college degree (third or fourth-year students preferred)
- Has automobile access with willingness and ability to travel within the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex
- Has existing insurance (through school or family)
- Ability to work early mornings
- Ability to work outside in extreme weather and temperatures
- Ability to safely operate a golf cart
- Ability to stand and move around on foot for extended periods of time
- Ability to speak publicly
- Effectively able to use and operate cell phones, tablets, and hand-held radios
- Ability to lift objects up to 50 pounds, i.e. tents, tables, stakes, and signage
TOURNAMENT TRAVELTournaments will be located throughout the entire Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and extensive travel around DFW is required. Interns will be responsible for their own transportation to and from all tournaments as well as to and from the Northern Texas PGA office. Should a tournament be conducted outside of the DFW Metroplex travel, meals and lodging will be provided.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- Interns are compensated at a rate of $10.00 per hour (before taxes)
- Interns are compensated at a rate of $15.00 per hour if they work more than 40 hours per week (before taxes)
- Fall Interns are guaranteed a minimum of $600 (before taxes) per pay period during the Fall season – the pay period is biweekly
- NTPGA staff uniforms including golf shirts and hats will be provided
- Playing and practicing privileges at the NTPGA Golf Park and select golf courses in the area
- School credit (if applicable)
