Middle School Reading Specialist

The Lab School of Washington is seeking a reading specialist to work individually and in small groups with students in our middle school (5th-8th grade). Candidates should be well versed in programs and approaches aligned with the Science of Reading, including, but not limited to Orton-Gillingham.

Requirements:

  • Orton-Gillingham training
  • Knowledge of Google Workspace (e.g., Drive, Classroom, Docs)
  • Excellent interpersonal, written language and communication skills
  • Ability to work creatively and in a self-directed manner
  • Resourceful, flexible, and service oriented Ideal candidate:
    • At least 2-3 years of teaching and/or therapeutic reading intervention experience
    • Advanced degree
