PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Teaching:

  • Teach Physical Education to students in Nursery to Grade Four in conjunction with another Physical Education teacher.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Regularly update curriculum to reflect school priorities; the school's values of diversity, equity, and social justice; and 21st-century skills.
  • Work with the Head of Athletics and the relevant department chair to ensure curricular alignment with other divisions.
  • Plan and facilitate student demonstrations of learning, games, and Athletics Day.
  • Collaborate with homeroom teachers and other specialists to promote cross-curricular integration.
  • Assess student progress and adjust teaching plans accordingly.
  • Share student skills development with families through well-crafted reports.
  • Maintain strong communication with families and all relevant stakeholders through appropriate records/documentation, notes and emails, and in-person discussions. Additional Responsibilities:

      Specific Skills: Strong classroom management skills, flexibility, and willingness to adapt. Familiarity with Google Classroom and other Google Suite products preferred.
