Job Summary:

Driver Evaluator plans, develops, coordinates and implements driver rehabilitation services for individuals with disabilities and medical conditions. Providing clinical and behind the wheel driving assessment which may include equipment evaluations and/or training services to clients for the purpose of assessing and teaching independent driving skills.

Job Description:

Principle Responsibilities

  • Driver assessment and/or training services to clients.
    • Provides behind the wheel portion of comprehensive evaluations.
    • Evaluates equipment in sedan and/or van as needed.
    • Trains behind the wheel with or without equipment in preparation for the State Road test.
    • Documentation provided to pertinent parties regarding assessment, progress and outcomes.
    • Ensure program vehicles are mechanically maintained to meet safety standards.
  • Documentation of services provided.
    • Complete and submit service charges.
    • Compliance with MN State Driving School guidelines, National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy, the Association for Driver Rehabilitation Specialist and other certification or accreditation boards as applicable.
    • Complete documentation records for all services provided.
    • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Associate's or Vocational degree health care related field such as occupational therapy, physical therapy, kinesiotherapy, speech therapy, therapeutic recreation or special education required
  • 5 to 7 years working with disabled population in a medical rehabilitation setting required
  • Valid Driver's License required upon hire - MN and WI residents must obtain a valid driver's license in their state of residence within 60 days of employment
