  • The University of Miami Hospital Imaging Department has an exciting Opportunity for a Full Time MRI Technologist.
  • This position operates MRI equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic and research purposes.
  • Sets up imaging area and selects appropriate coil based on information from exam triage form, attached referring physician order, and patient's screening form.
  • Positions patient on examining table and adjusts immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specific areas of the body.
  • Explains procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
  • Follows safety procedures by assessing the patient physically and reviewing applicable notes and forms in patient's file.
  • Performs daily quality assurance measurements on MRI equipment.
  • Reports and documents any equipment issues to the appropriate senior staff.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all patient information according to federal and state guidelines and regulations.
  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Associates degree in relevant field. Bachelor's and/or equivalent experience preferred

Certification and Licensing:

Certification in relevant specialty or field

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience

  • Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
