This role will primarily support the Research and Development organization throughout North America with a strong focus at our site in Indianapolis.

This role will fulfill not only the Radiation Safety Officer role for Indianapolis and Delaware but also support the team in EH&S initiatives, programs and policy execution.

\r

What You'll Do:
\r

  • Lead the Radiation Safety Program at our Indianapolis, IN and Newark, DE facilities. \r
  • Interpret and communicate expectations based on laws, regulations, and company policies and procedures. \r
  • Administer safety programs, conduct employee training and complete risk management assessments in the areas of safety, occupational health, and environmental management. \r
  • Support location in record-keeping of Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) programs. \r
  • Develop and implement function and group specific safety policies/programs. \r
  • Review facility operations and consult with site safety committees, EH&S networks and employees to identify unsafe working conditions and develop appropriate controls or alternatives. \r
  • Continue to drive the safety culture at Corteva through demonstration and frequent/consistent communication on the importance of safety. \r
  • Able to lead or participate on Emergency Response Teams, specifically HAZWOPER and Confined Space. \r
  • Willingness to adapt to ever-changing environments, on both the Research and Development (R&D) and EH&S sides. Responsibilities of this role can shift to best support R&D. \r

QualificationsEducation:
\r

  • You have a Bachelor's degree or higher or 5+ years of relevant EH&S experience. \r

What Skills You Need:
\r

  • You have 3+ years of experience working around radioisotopes or in Research and Development (equivalent relevant experience and education will be considered). \r
  • You have excellent teamwork and communication skills. \r
  • With your coaching & leadership skills, you are able to build trust and rapport with employees to achieve a strong safety culture. \r
  • You have high-level computer abilities. \r
  • You have a high attention to detail so you can maintain awareness of existing and proposed safety codes/regulations and company guidelines plus maintain as well as analyze appropriate data. \r
  • You are a proactive problem-solver, able to make decisions in time sensitive conditions. \r

What Makes You Stand Out:

  • You have OSHA 10-hr or 30-hr training certification. \r
  • You are trained on

Workplace Safety:
Knowledge of First Aid, CPR, and AED skills and certification; thorough knowledge of safety regulations. \r

  • You are trained on

Occupational Health:
Thorough knowledge of industrial hygiene and occupational health hazards and regulations. \r

  • Training or experience in the realm of BioSafety. \r
  • Completed training and certification as required by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. \r
  • You are aware of

Environmental Regulations:
Awareness of applicable environmental policies, standards, guidelines, regulations, and local requirements. (spill containment, facility waste stream & disposal requirements, etc.). \r
