Position Purpose: Interacts with prospective members through education and assists with any enrollment needs. Represents the Plan through telephonic outreach to recertify members.Establish contact; assess an individual's healthcare needs and concerns; establish eligibility for Medicare; provide overview of organizational mission; effectively and clearly present benefits of Medicare products in accordance with all governmental regulations. Answer product and/or service questions; suggest features and benefits about Medicare products and services to attract potential customers.
Follow up on leads from various prospective members
Complete all necessary paperwork, documentation, and follow-up in accordance with Center for Medicaid & Medicare Services (CMS) guidelines. Screen applicant eligibility; review and validate documentation necessary for enrollment into Medicare; provide client education; provide timely follow-up to obtain missing or additional information to complete the application; input necessary information into applicable computer systems in a timely fashion.
Respond to customer's calls within designated time frames and perform troubleshooting procedures to determine the nature of the inquiry or issue to the satisfaction of the customer; clarify the customer's inquiry; determine the cause of the problem; select and explain the best solution to solve the concern and expedite correction or adjustment as needed; follow up with customers to ensure resolution.
Follow organization standards to maintain excellent quality service.
Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation; provide education to the caller for more effective troubleshooting in the future.
Occasionally attend Community events, conduct home-based visits, and work in the community offices as needed.

Education/Experience: AA/AS - Associates Degree or equivalent required. BA/BS - Bachelors Degree or equivalent preferred. One to two years related sales experience required. One to three years experience in a managed health care setting preferred. Working knowledge of general marketing strategies; effectively establishing relationships to find new opportunities to educate and enroll individuals into State Health Plans. Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Access; Lotus Notes; Internet. Proficiency in one or more languages other than English. Business Analysis Knowledge: Skilled to work in a fast paced environment. Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills. Customer Service: Skilled to communicate with all levels of management, internal and external customers. Ability to work well as a member of a team or alone. Driver's License may be required by some plans. Specific language skills may be required by some plans.

The salary range for NY is: $ $32.35 per hour

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law.


License/Certification: NYS Life, Accident & Health Insurance License as an agent required.
