About this role

The Senior Manager, SAP Development bears overall responsibility for overseeing design, development and implementation of SAP solutions within Newmont. In addition, he/she will manage and provide SAP ERP technical services for all Newmont- business units.

This person must have extensive experience in SAP development methodologies, technologies and best practices, along with strong leadership skills to guide and mentor a team of SAP developers.

The Senior Manager will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, IT leadership and external partners to deliver high quality SAP solutions that meet business requirements and drive digital transformation initiatives.

Your role will consist of

Strategic

Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for SAP development initiatives, focusing on SAP S/4HANA and SAP BTP, aligned with the organization's business goals
Identifying emerging technologies, trends and best practices in SAP development for SAP S/4HANA and BTP to drive innovation, enhance business processes and maintain competitiveness in the market
Collaborate with IT Functional leads and key stakeholders to ensure alignment of SAP development efforts with organizational priorities, requirements and strategic initiatives

Plan and forecast SAP development resource requirements based on strategic objectives, project timelines and business needs related to S/4HANA and BTP platforms.

Manage and provide guidance to project resources, including third party partner consulting resources, onsite and offshore

Tactical

Lead and oversee developmental projects related to S4HANA and BTP, including planning, scheduling, budgeting and resource allocation to ensure successful delivery within scope, time and budget constraints
Provide strong leadership and direction of SAP development teams, including hiring, training, coaching and performance management, to foster a high performing and motivated workforce
Manage the technical application design, construction and implementation activities for forms, reports, interfaces, conversions and enhancements as well as workflows in SAP
Ownership of development templates and documents required throughout the project
Implement global development standards and procedures for the process teams
Provide quality control and ownership over all ABAP development activities and deliverables
Champions the evolution and evaluation of SAP development processes to achieve continuous improvement related to S/4HANA and BTP platform

Identify potential risks and issues related to SAP development projects for S4HANA and BTP and implement effective mitigation strategies to minimize the impact on project outcomes and deliverables.

Ensure adherence to all internal/external audit and SOX IT controls related to SAP development

Operational

Provide technical guidance and expertise to SAP development teams, resolving complex technical challenges and providing recommendations for optimal solutions related to S/4HANA and BTP platforms
Provide and approve SAP development code changes, ensuring adherence to coding standards, best practices and security guidelines
Prioritize work of direct reports and oversee the quality and appropriateness of the work performed
Lead ongoing operational support, maintenance, updates and continuous improvement of S/4HANA application
Ensure application development initiatives are well managed and deliver on expectations - functionality, timeliness and cost
Accountable to complete the planned execution of SAP solutions roadmaps and enhancements
Troubleshoot production issues and conduct root cause analysis.

Your training, skills, and experience checklist

Knowledge:
Bachelor's (undergraduate) degree in computer science, information systems or equivalent is required
Understanding of SAP Cloud Platform architecture
Exposure to one or more SAP cloud platform capabilities: ABAP, integration, Workflow, User Experience, mobility
Proven experience leading and managing SAP development teams, with a track record of successful project delivery and stakeholder management
Exposure to non ABAP technologies: UI5, JavaScript, HTML5 etc.
Knowledge of FI, CO, MM, PM functional areas in SAP
Applicant is required to have a strong development and applications background

Experience:

15 years of technology, people management and related management experience
Minimum 10 years of experience as an ABAP programmer
Minimum 10 years' of industry/consulting experience with SAP platforms, applications and technologies
2+ years of any S/4HANA application enhancement and implementation
Strong technical expertise in SAP development tools and technologies including ABAP, SAP Fiori, SAPUI5, SAP Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP)
Extensive programming experience connecting S/4HANA to other systems and designing in an Object Oriented method
Experience in object oriented programming in SAP S/4HANA
Experience in participating in transformation initiatives for mid to large scale organization
Experience in driving business process improvement initiatives

Experience in advanced frameworks:
RAP, BOPF, BRF Plus, CDS etc.
Mining, construction, utilities or other heavy industry experience is preferred.

Working conditions and location


The primary location for this position is Denver but qualified candidates in proximity to one of our offices or operations in the US or Canada are encouraged to apply.

The salary range offered for this role is USD $120, ,070. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.

This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company's performance and their own individual performance.
