Surgery Scheduler

Position Responsibilities
- Coordinates the clinic and surgery schedules for the providers to ensure there are no conflicts.
- Coordinates surgery schedule with internal and external operating rooms and Surgery Centers.
- Submits surgical clearances for the purpose of patient scheduling into the OR.
- Submits all information to the pre-certification team to ensure the insurance will cover the surgical costs.
- Acts as the family's liaison between the surgical locations and provider staff to ensure all education, authorizations and post op appointments are handled appropriately.
- Schedules outpatient ancillary procedures and testing for families.
- Ensures that all necessary information required by the surgical facilities is included in the surgery order.
- Acts as a communication liaison between Nemours surgeons and the surgical facilities, pre-certification, and others to clarify questions surrounding a patient's case.
Position Requirements
- High School Diploma required
- Minimum of six (6) months previous surgery scheduling experience required.
