Responsibilities- Provide patient management and surgical first assist services, including skin biopsies, incision and drainage, catheter removals, complex wound care, hernia surgery, abdominal wall procedures, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, and lump and bump removals.
- Perform patient histories and physical exams in the office and hospital setting, including new patients, follow-ups, pre- and post-operative care.
- Handle daily patient rounds, patient education, and discharge summaries.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as routine laboratory, X-ray, and ultrasound.
- Monitor patient treatment and make referrals to physicians or specialists as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians and staff to provide consistent care to patients and support to staff.
- Work a flexible schedule and provide services at AdventHealth Central Florida.
- Masters Degree in Physician Assistant Studies.
- 1-5 years of surgical experience preferred.
- Current, valid Florida PA license.
- Certification by NCCPA or other nationally recognized certification organization.
- BLS and ACLS certification.
- Current, valid DEA license.
