Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) for a full-time role in our Thoracic Surgery Oncology department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive physical assessments of patients.
- Evaluate and manage adult thoracic surgery patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Provide care for conditions including but not limited to robotic lung surgery, minimally invasive treatments for early-stage lung cancer, and advanced surgical interventions for complex thoracic conditions.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory and imaging studies.
- Assist physicians during hospital procedures as necessary.
- Educate patients and their families regarding pre-operative and post-operative care.
- Monitor patient progress and make referrals to specialists when needed.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and engage in continuous personal and professional development.
Work Schedule:
This position requires a flexible schedule, including alternating weekends and on-call duties.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Nurse Practitioner Studies or Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited institution.
- Preferred experience in Adult Thoracic Surgery.
- Current Florida ARNP or PA license (or eligibility).
- Certification from a recognized national body (or eligibility).
