Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) for a full-time role in our Thoracic Surgery Oncology department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive physical assessments of patients.
  • Evaluate and manage adult thoracic surgery patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
  • Provide care for conditions including but not limited to robotic lung surgery, minimally invasive treatments for early-stage lung cancer, and advanced surgical interventions for complex thoracic conditions.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory and imaging studies.
  • Assist physicians during hospital procedures as necessary.
  • Educate patients and their families regarding pre-operative and post-operative care.
  • Monitor patient progress and make referrals to specialists when needed.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and engage in continuous personal and professional development.

Work Schedule:

This position requires a flexible schedule, including alternating weekends and on-call duties.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Nurse Practitioner Studies or Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited institution.
  • Preferred experience in Adult Thoracic Surgery.
  • Current Florida ARNP or PA license (or eligibility).
  • Certification from a recognized national body (or eligibility).
