As the Director, Operations and Finance, you will report directly to the Executive Director and work closely with other senior leaders and board members. You will also liaise with external partners, funders, auditors, and stakeholders. You will play a key role in ensuring the sustainability and growth of our organization.

Essential Job Duties

  • Manage and supervise the operations and finance staff, including hiring, training, coaching, and evaluation.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for operational and financial management, in alignment with the organization's strategic plan and goals.
  • Prepare and monitor annual and project budgets, cash flow projections, and financial reports, and ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial transactions and records.
  • Oversee the administration of grants, contracts, payroll, taxes, insurance, and audits, and ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Analyze and evaluate operational and financial performance, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend solutions and improvements.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other senior leaders and departments on cross-functional initiatives and projects.
  • Represent the organization and communicate effectively with external partners, funders, auditors, and stakeholders.
  • Keep abreast of best practices and trends in operations and finance, and seek opportunities for innovation and learning.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or related field. Master's degree or CPA certification preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in operations or finance, with at least 5 years in a senior management position.
  • Experience in the nonprofit sector, especially in grant management and reporting, is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, financial analysis and reporting, budgeting and forecasting, and internal controls.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, and other relevant software and tools.
  • Excellent leadership, management, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly and persuasively.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • High level of professionalism, ethics, and integrity, with the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
  • Passion for the mission and vision of the organization, and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
