You're diligent with an automation first mindset and have experience with scripting languages and test frames works.What you will do:As a Control Plane Engineer, you'll join an agile team engaged in the design, development and testing of the Control Plane required for the Cisco 8000 platforms utilizing experience listed in the basic and preferred qualifications listed below.Basic Qualifications:
  • MS/BS degree in CS/EE/CE or technical equivalent.
  • 7+ years' of related work experience.
  • Software Development experience using C, C++, and/or Python.
  • Experience developing routing protocol stack in vendor NOS or in open-source networking stacks like FRR, Quagga.
  • A deep understanding of network protocols such as BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, etc.Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience and/or knowledge of Segment Routing, L2VPN and EVPN technologies, BIER and Controller based Solutions.
    • Understanding of Software-Defined Networking (SDN) principles, Network Function Virtualization (NFV), and related technologies such as OpenFlow, network overlays, and virtualized network functions.
    • Packet forwarding operating systems internals, algorithms, and computer architecture.
    • Experience with MPLS based VPNs (MVPN, L3VPN, L2VPN).
    • GIT, Jira, Jenkins and CI/CD pipeline tools.
    • Virtualization and container technologies including KVM/Qemu, Docker and/or Kubernetes.
    • Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve complex network issues, including packet capture analysis, log analysis, and protocol debugging.Why Cisco?#WeAreCisco.
