The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Maintaining utility service (steam, electricity, compressed air and water/wastewater treatment) to all vital production, research and quality assurance areas to prevent loss of production, vital testing, fires and/or explosions; 2) Making preliminary diagnosis of trouble symptoms to recommend action (e.g. correct issues, shut down equipment) to the power plant supervisor; 3) Conducting checks of equipment (generators, boilers, air compressors, electrical distribution systems) by reviewing load demand records, examining dispatch of utilities orders, and observing conditions reflected on control computers; 4) Performing extensive repairs during slack periods and scheduled shut downs to avoid mechanical malfunctions.
