Information Technology (DoIT) provides State agencies with a common statewide\r
strategy for secure, effective, and technically sound use of the State's\r
information technology resources. This Office is responsible for the\r
establishment of Security Policies, Security Guidance, Security Awareness, and\r
management of the Statewide Security Operations Center (SOC), which provides\r
detection, cyber threat, and incident response capabilities; and is a source of\r
IT security information for State agencies.​\r

POSITION DUTIES

The Firewall Manager is a leadership role responsible for\r
the overall health and operation of the managed firewall platform, maturing the\r
managed firewall service, leading the firewall team, and being a key\r
contributor to the technical vision of the service. The Firewall Manager is responsible\r
for executing the strategic direction of the Director of Cybersecurity\r
Operations. �\r
\r
The chosen candidate for this\r
position must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the\r
ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical\r
stakeholders and the ability to multitask and work under pressure in a\r
fast-paced environment. �\r

Service position which serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority***\r
\r
Lead and manage the firewall\r
team responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Managed Firewall service\r
and ensure that work quality, procedures, processes, and production statistics\r
align with leadership strategies and goals. \r
Develop metrics to ensure the\r
service and systems are operating as designed, identify patterns of alerts and\r
support analysis to drive improvements and efficiencies.\r
Document and maintain the\r
Managed Firewall service architecture, processes, and procedures.\r
Provide regular status updates and briefings to\r
senior leadership.\r

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college\r
or university in computer science, cybersecurity, information technology,\r
software engineering, information systems, computer engineering, business\r
administration or other related field.\r
�\r
Experience: Five years working in an information technology\r
area such as, firewall administration, system engineering, desktop/server\r
administration, network engineering and/or information security. Two of the\r
five years must have been in a supervisory role. \r
�\r
Three of the five required years of experience needs to have been working\r
with next-gen firewalls such as Palo Alto Networks, Cisco, and other equivalent\r
vendor firewall experience.\r
�\r
Note:�Additional experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for\r
year basis for the degree.\r

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference Will Be Given to Those\r
Who Have the Following:\r
One\r
or more of the following certifications: DOD CSSP Analyst level\r
certification, DOD IAT Level II or IAM Level II certification, Palo\r
Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator (PCNSA).\r

Experience\r
working with enterprise network architectures to include routing/switching, and\r
common protocols. \r
