Information Technology Specialist

This position is located within the United States Department of Agriculture, National Agricultural Statistics Service, Business Service Branch, in Washington, DC.
In this position, you will be responsible for serving as the Project Leader for the development of applications software while providing a range of functions and support relative to the NASS systems, databases, and applications software.
Duties
- Create and update programming documentation to ensure cross-functional understanding of processes, flows, data transfers, and other automated functions.
- Create, manage, and deploy automated scripting for DevSecOps based operations.
- Consult with users on matters related to requirements for system modifications and/or new systems including user interfaces, functionality, and the security requests of the users.
- Develop, write IT programs and applications, and ensures the programs meet technical and performance requirements with supervisory review/approval.
- Plan and coordinate feasibility studies which involve observation of work processes, consultation with senior level team members, and testing of certain equipment and commercially available software.
- Devise new means to accomplish the tasks with supervisory approval, adding to or modifying source data, or recommending procedural changes necessary to solve the problem.
