What you'll do:
\r

Production Technician Trainees are responsible for the production of quality, formulated products in a safe and efficient manner. They use knowledge of products, raw materials, and operating procedures to control equipment that processes substances into specified products. \r

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES \r
\tResponsible for the safe operation of chemical processing equipment. \tRead and understand Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Stages raw and finished materials. \tTakes required samples during production process. \tDecontaminates equipment and piping for maintenance or disposal. \tUtilizes Personal Protective Equipment Matrix. \tMaintains inventories of disposable, production, and safety related materials. \tRecognizes material compatibilities. \tConducts charging and filing operations. \tMaintains plant Hazard Communication labeling program. \tPerforms general housekeeping duties throughout the plant area. \tAssists in product changeover activities. \tResponsible for plant/unit operations and safety equipment. Recognizes and operates basic process elements. \tRCRA hazardous waste regulations, waste determinations, waste codes, and how to immediately communicate discovery of spills and leaks. Handles waste and other contaminated trash per SOP. \tResponsible for labeling, inspection, and recordkeeping requirements to accumulate waste in satellite accumulation areas, containers, and tanks. \tOperates forklifts; \tOperates shuttle wagon and radio communication during rail movement operations; \tAbility to pass a post-offer physical and perform the essential functions of the role with or without reasonable accommodation. \r

WHO YOU ARE \r
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following: \r

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
\r
\tHigh School Diploma or GED with at least that level in reading comprehension, writing, and math; \tBasic knowledge of and ability to use information technology systems and applications; \tPersonal focus on safety, teamwork, and adaptability; \tStrong written & verbal communication skills and the ability to listen; \tAble to work without direct supervision in a diverse team environment; \r
\tAbility to use or learn to use control/display screens, process pumps and equipment, and various hand tools; \tAbility to use full-face respirator, self-contained breathing apparatus, and various other forms of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE;) \tWillingness to climb with the ability to perform elevated work utilizing portable ladders and fall protection equipment; \tAvailability to work rotating shifts including overtime hours and weekends as scheduled. \r

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

\tManufacturing operation, Military experience, or similar experience \tAbility to use information technology systems and applications; \tForklift operation; \tAbility to use various hand tools; \tAbility to troubleshoot and complete mechanical repairs or preventive maintenance on equipment; \tOperate Computer Control Systems (PLC & Delta V) \tLeadership of a team or small group \r
