Electrical & Instrumentation Technician

Summary of the position:

This position is the foundation of the Electrical and Instrumentation group. The Electrical & Instrumentation Technician position will work closely with the Customer's Production areas to ensure process control / electrical problems are isolated and repaired in an expedient manner. This person will respond to site wide electrical and instrumentation breakdown and repair calls, troubleshoot and repair 480 VAC power distribution problems, and isolate faulty components within the different control system platforms. This person will be responsible for instrumentation calibration and commissioning, generating "as-built" drawings when necessary, and making minor programming changes during off hours.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot hardwired control circuits
• Troubleshoot and repair flow transmitters (magnetic, vortex, and D/P)
• Troubleshoot and repair all types of level transmitters (radar, hydrostatic, and ultrasonic)
• Troubleshoot and repair Programmable Logic controllers and hardware (Square D and Allen Bradley)
• Repair, rebuild, and replace actuated control valves (Fisher and Neles)
• Interpret PLC ladder logic (Square D and Allen-Bradley)
• Analyze and interpret Function Block Programming
• Calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair all types of temperature sensing devices
• Possess the ability to perform basic troubleshooting in Provox and Delta V
• Troubleshoot WYE-Delta starters
• Understand, install, and troubleshoot variable frequency drives
• Understand and troubleshoot 480 VAC three phase power distribution problems
• Generate "as-built" drawings when necessary

Required:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Minimum of four years electrical experience
• Minimum of one year experience with Instruments or Controls
• Must live within 45 miles of Muscatine Iowa or willing to relocate

Preferred:

• One year of both Instruments and Controls experience
