Detroit, Michigan, United States TEKsystems Full time

This team is looking for Software Development Engineers who will develop, test and deploy the data modelling needed to rollout an industrial automation platform to planned warehouses. Primary responsibilities include developing monitoring solutions, troubleshooting/debugging and implementing the fix for internally developed code, performing queries, running scripts, improving our systems that gather metrics on our features, updating, tracking and resolving technical challenges.

The platform being developed is a system that connects to all of the PLCs in warehouses, collects information from them, and reports that data to the cloud. Also monitors the status of all the PLCs to make sure they are in good operational status. They are launching it in warehouses across the US and need engineers to help them with the launch.

The platform is a data infrastructure solution for any type of industrial automation equipment (IAE), such as sorters and conveyors. It pulls data from programable logic controllers (PLC) and sends through local servers or Cloud services. It provides consistent, aggregated and standardized industrial equipment data, real time notification of events and alarms, backed up by AWS services.

This is a cloud-based platform that will be tied into equipment PLCs to assist in tracking reliability and performance across the network.

It is combining EAM, and all the miscellaneous tracking tools (vibration/heat sensors on conveyors and motors and sorters, vendor-specific performance and metric tools, etc) into one platform.
