Main Purpose of Job

Under the direction of the Program Manager of Infectious Disease Prevention and Control and the Program Supervisor for Epidemiology, the main purpose of this position is to assist in monitoring communicable disease surveillance and control activities in support of the Anne Arundel County Department of\r
Health's (AACDOH) mission to preserve, protect, and promote the health of all who live, work, and play in Anne Arundel County. This position will supervise Community Health Nurses within the Epidemiology Program.� This position ensures that staff perform daily surveillance activities in order to reduce the spread of infectious diseases within the county.\r

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university.\r
Experience: One year of experience as a Community Health Nurse. \r
Notes:\r
1. Candidates may substitute a Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and one year of experience as a Registered Nurse for the required education.\r
2. Candidates may substitute two years of experience as a Registered Nurse for the required education. \r
3. Candidates may substitute a Master's degree in nursing or related field from an accredited college or university for the required education and experience. \r
4. Candidates may substitute one year of experience in an administrative, supervisory, consultative or teaching capacity as a Registered Nurse for the required experience. \r
5. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Nursing classification or Nursing or Health Care Specialist specialty codes in the Nursing field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.\r

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

1. Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current license as a registered nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing, 4140 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland \r
2. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.\r
